When we want to do something like this, the X32 does not natively allow this, however, we can do some creative routing to make it work! Behringer X32 Recording with Effects What about Effects or a Post Fader Recording?!įor those using the Behringer X32 as a recording studio interface, some may want to have a post fader recording tap so that they can closely control the recording level to the DAW or even record a ‘processed’ signal with the EQ, Gate, and Dynamics of the X32. The signal from the X-UF and X-USB will play right back after the preamp, but before any of the Low Cut, Polarity Reverse, EQ, Gate, Dynamics, etc. This is perfect when using the recordings as a ‘virtual sound check’ where we can play the recorded tracks out of the DAW and inject the signal back into the X32 so that one can mix without any live band on stage. The X32 taps the signal for the X-UF and X-USB right after the preamp, so any of the Low Cut, Polarity Reverse, EQ, Gate, Dynamics, etc. Make sure to check out my YouTube video “Behringer X32 Recording with Effects!” These cards allow the X32 to record up to 32 channels at the same time into a computer! The X-UF card has both Firewire and USB 2.0, where the X-USB has only USB 2.0 but both cards are able to pass 32 channels In and 32 channels Out of a digital audio workstation (DAW) on a computer. Or if I'm wrong about OBS only ever producing one picture, and it *can* in fact both produce the meeting feed and record the meeting window at the same time - with different audio for each, cherry-picked out of the same multitrack input - that would be absolutely awesome! I already have a "screengrab" scene that I've used on occasion, which would suffice for that picture, provided that I could simultaneously send a different scene *to* the meeting. With all of the things that the Behringer X32 does, one of my favorite features is the X-UF and X-USB expansion cards. Or I guess if OBS can pass that track through without affecting the stereo broadcast mix - neither streamed nor recorded from OBS, only passed through as a virtual sound card - that would work too. Is there a way to make OBS share its raw audio source with something else? When I close OBS, *then* the other apps can use the card, so I know they work.

Likewise for Audacity it can't see that card either while OBS is running. , but when I also point it to that "sound card", it refuses to use it while OBS is running. I can record my video screenshot with ffmpeg -f x11grab. Tracks 9-32 already have their own purpose that I haven't pursued at all yet. (what I'm calling "tracks" here, are called "Outputs" in the X32's settings) The "subwoofer" on track 6 is ignored in OBS, and so I thought I might commandeer that for the mono auxiliary soundtrack. So I put the broadcast mix on the front corners 1&2 and keep the rest off, as shown below. I have a stereo broadcast mix, completely finished inside the X32, while OBS insists on interpreting tracks 1-8 as 7.1 surround and downmixing that to stereo. That hardware is a Behringer X32 digital sound board that offers a 32-track USB "sound card". Given that, and the need for this different-picture recording to have its own soundtrack as well, I need to get OBS to share the hardware that it's using for audio input. But because that video is different from what OBS is doing, I have to use something else to record it, correct? OBS can do a very limited amount of multitrack audio and send different tracks to different places, but there's only ever one picture. I also want to record a local copy of the meeting window, which is basically a video screenshot on the same machine that OBS runs on. I'm using OBS to produce a virtual camera for an online meeting.
